INSPIRE CONCERTS FAQ's...

Q: How long does an Inspire Concert last? Is the length adjustable?

An Inspire Concert lasts about 1 hour. With a short break or with extra material, closer to 1 hour, 15 min. And yes, total concert length can be adjusted anywhere from 30 min. to 90 min. (roughly).

Q: Is it amplified? Do you need a sound system?

Yes, and I bring and set-up my own sound system.

Q: Do you need us to provide a sound or video engineer/technician to assist you during the concert?

No, providing a sound or video person is not necessary (I generally do it

all on my own). However, if there are capable persons available and wanting to help in this way, I am always grateful for technical assistance.

Q: Are there any special lighting needs?

The concert space should be darkened (and/or shades drawn) for the duration of the presentation (for max. visibility of video backdrop). And, if possible, an overhead lighted area onstage near the front (downstage).

If this is not possible, we can work this out!

Q: When is the free-will offering (charitable donations) taken?

The offering can be taken about 30-45 minutes after the start of the concert.

Q: Can there be a (labeled) offering basket/bin at the entryway

of the auditorium (instead of a special offering time)?

Yes!

Q: Can you do an Inspire Concert without a free-will offering,

but instead be funded by honorarium?

Yes!

Q: Can you do an Inspire Concert without the video component,

and in a fully lit environment?

Yes, usually. While a video-free Inspire presentation reduces

the event's unique content and impact, this is possible.

Q: Do you have a live accompanist, band, or orchestra?

No, I use high-quality pre-recorded multi-media accompaniment (backing/sound tracks). The majority of the soundtracks contain a simultaneous visual illustration component that is displayed using a projection system.

I am amenable to adding live musicians to the concert.

If there are musicians who are both capable and desiring to contribute,

I am open to it. (In earlier years, I utilized excellent (live) pianists

for part or all of the concert event to accompany me.

Q: What specific churches or groups have you given Inspire Concerts at?

So far, churches have included:

Garfield Baptist Church (Wauwatosa, WI)

Racine Fellowship Church (Racine, WI)

Spring Creek Church (Pewaukee, WI)

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (Whitefish Bay, WI)

Queen of Apostles Catholic Church (Pewaukee, WI)

Powell United Methodist Church (Columbus, OH)

Third Church Christ-Scientist (Milwaukee, WI)

First Lutheran Church (West Allis, WI)

Inspire concerts (modified) have been also given at:

Wedding receptions

Women's conferences (Catholic Christian)

At-home book clubs

Charitable community service groups

Retirement communities

Jewish Reform synagogue luncheons

Q: Is there room for a break or intermission during the Inspire Concert?

Yes, anywhere between 20 min. to 50 min. after the start of the concert,

a short 4-7 min. audience break can be planned.

Q: Can a willing representative give a (short) prayer or blessing

at a special time before or during the concert?

Yes!

Q: Who would introduce the concert?

Whoever is capable and willing! Either with -or without- introduction is ok.

If an event coordinator wishes to give introduction, that is great!

Otherwise, no problem! I can start without.

Q: Can I have an Inspire Concert in my home?

Usually, yes! As long as there is enough space to provide adequate

and comfortable seating area, it is very doable.

Q: Is there an audience sing-along (or corporate singing) moment?

Maybe! There may be 1-2 songs where I may invite the audience to do some limited singing with me, but this is variable (and optional).

If there are specific thoughts on this, let me know.

Q: How much set-up time is needed before the concert starts?

Total minimum setup time is about 70 minutes.

(Being on my own, 90 minutes to 2 hours (or more) is more comfortable.)

Q: Can set-up be at an earlier time (or date?)

Yes, usually! This can be worked out in most cases.

Q: What is the minimum audience size required?

Practically speaking, an audience of 20 attendees could be

thought of as a bare minimum. Whether for audiences & congregations

of 2, 5, 10, 50, 100, etc. or 1000, 10,000, I am OK with that. I just want the attendance to be as large as is safely possible.

Q: Can the venue/event coordinators make announcements

or advertise the Inspire Concert?

Yes! Please do inform your community(ies) about the Inspire Concert!

Digital imagery for the Inspire Concert (pictures, flyers, posters, and even video)

is provided that can be adapted and posted to any appropriate internet/network platform. Feel free to PRINT digital imagery for any paper flyers or posters. (Optional) I can also provide 1-2 (2x3 ft. paper-faced foam board)

concert posters for display for a few weeks before the event.

Q: Can there be a reception (or meet & greet) after the concert?

Yes, of course!

Q: Can the Inspire Concert be recorded and posted?

Generally, yes!
